we had a wonderful ceremony in halifax with cpa nova scotia and brian's brother, Vernon the inspiration for spineride canada.  it was very touching to see brian and his brother reunite after more than 6600 km bicycling across canada.  ctv atlantic was there as well.  what a great way to end the ride.

we left for halifax about 180 km from new glascow this morning.  we got truro about 11 am.  and yes it was raining again today, what a fitting way to end the ride.  it feels like it has been raining for 2 weeks straight!!!  we headed for halifax and started counting down the kilometers on highway 102.  i felt kind of sad to see the final few kilometers pass by.  it got very very hilly near halifax.  we arrived in town around 3:30pm but didn't find reg, the rv and the HMSC anchor in point pleasant park until about 4pm.  we were elated to finish, and one day early!

after the ceremony in charlottetown, pei we rode to the woods island ferry at the south end of the island.  we got on the boat at around  7:45 pm with the bikes and of course the rv down below.  the sunset was spectacular and there was a rainbow as well.  we arrived in pictou, nova scotia around 9:15 pm  and started riding to new glascow about 25km away, after putting on our bicycle night lights.  we parked at the local walmart for the night.  we had a minor but stinky problem.  the black watse valve on the rv started to leak.  brian fixed it temporarily with plastic grocery bags and duct tape around the end of the pipe.  what would we do without duct tape!!!.  i think we almost used the whole roll of duct tape throughout the ride.
