July 27th

It was great being home for 2 days. The welcome party yesterday was a huge success, thanks to michele, my better half. It was great to see everyone again. We left oshawa at 9:15 am with four ironmen: Glenda, Rick, Rob and Craig. They biked with us for 91.1 km until colborne, then they turned back making their total distance 182.2 km exactly ironman distance, a coincidence, I don’t think so. They are training for another race obviously. Brian and I continued and stopped in odessa, after about 195km. We tried to make it to kingston but time was short as we had to be in ottawa this evening to meet Mr. Bobby White, CPA National Fund Developer. He had arranged for us to be on ctv morning news tomorrow at 6:30am. He prepared a great meal for us of walnut salad with cheese/tomato slices sprinkled with a light clear dressing followed by a ton of meat; a half chicken each, a full rack of marinated ribs, mmmm, and a hot potato. Dessert was blueberries, strawberries, vanilla ice cream with a touch of real maple syrup. Bobby our tastebuds and stomachs thankyou. Unfortunately bobby did not have time to teach reg our rv cook his culinary tricks. We called it a night at about 100am.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for letting us be a part of your great adventure and cause. We all had a great time heading out with you. I had always thought that 180kms was a long ride but you guys seemed to bang that off like a quick warm up for your day. We had about five minutes of rain on the way back. It came as we were changing a flat and ended when we started to roll again. Keep up the good work, ride safe and we'll see you when you get back.
