We left riviere ouelle for edmunston at about 9:30am. It was cold and the wind was against us. We met Pierre Leclerc, a middle-aged man in great shape biking to keep in shape for hockey season. He spoke little english but was very pleasant. He wished us luck and peddled off at a good pace of about 25kph with a very low cadence of about 45 rpm in a high gear. We try to keep a cadence of over 80 rpm to keep our legs fresh and free of lactic acid. At noon it started raining, at times it rained cats and dogs as well as elephants, you get the picture. We decided to take highway 289 to edmundston to avoid the transcanada highway. The road was windy and full of cracks and potholes. We arrived in edmunston at 8:30ish and went to pizza hut for dinner then drove to the walmart parking lot for the night.
