today we left late around 1000 am for field.  the ride out of golden was difficult and seemed straight up for miles.  we arrived in field and met two groups of people cycling across canada.  they were carrying everything with them, food, tents, clothes, tools, etc.  their bikes must have weighed about 70-80 lbs.  i though our bikes were heavy about 25 lbs or so.  i guess not!. i was embarrassed to let a young girl lift up my bike with one finger.  we rode from lake louise to banff very fast, i averaged 36.6 kph and brian 33.1 kph.  we met rick from canmore for dinner at the keg.  he read about us on the cpa website and wanted to meet us.  we had a great time together and he gave us a donation and good wishes for the rest of our trip.  tomorrow we head for calgary about a 135 km.  should be easy now that the mountain passes are out of the way.  we are sad to leave beautiful bc behind but are excited to see the rest of our great nation.   we are feeling well, brian pulled his left knee out a bit trying to catch up to me on the way to banff.  i feel great so far but my thighs are a definitely sore.  the rv is stumbling along without a tune up and old spark plugs.  we are having a great time.
