Brian and I rode the Lake Scogog century tour last Friday, 168.5 km. The weather was cold and a little windy, especially in the beginning going west and north. As we turned south toward Lindsay from Cambray the wind and cold was better. We completed the ride easily in about 9 1/2 hours total. This seems a bit slow but given the cold, wind, very wide tires, heavy bikes, and lots of clothes the average of 21 kph is not bad. On Saturday and Sunday we followed up with shorter and faster 50 km rides. Looking forward to another long ride this weekend, maybe on skinny tires!! Although winter riding was great, it would be a welcomed change to get in some spring riding soon. We plan to do Toronto randonneur 200km brevet on April 13th.
