just after crossing into saskatchewan the rv had another problem. the battery gauge went to zero. we thought there was something wrong with the alternator. after looking around a very hot engine we discovered that a wire was hanging down, yes it was one of the wires for the alternator. i repluged into the back of the alternator and all is well again. also, one sparkplug cable became loose which had to be reattached again. we almost made it to swift current when a storm was brewing on the north end of town. the wind was towards the north and i was in sunshine still. however the wind suddenly turned 180 degrees towards the south and wind gusts started, i thought a tornado could erupt any time. the wind was very strong and sideways. it started to rain very big drops. then a small miracle happened.... a white pickup truck with 3 oil rig workers stopped by me and asked if i wanted a ride. i asked if the bike could go inside the truck, they agreed and then the hail started with gail force winds. the hail was about the size of marbles at least, the truck just kept going while most vehicles on the highway were stoppped. i called reg and he was already backtrackking with the rv to get brian and I. he got the hail shortly after with the rv and thought the windsheild might explode! shortly after i saw the rv and hopped in after thanking the guys in the truck. reg kept driving back west to find brian. Brian was a bit behind me and didn't get the rain or hail, he was able to turn around back west when the wind started to change direction. we all safely drove into swift current about 10 km away. that night it rained hard. tomorrow we leave for moose jaw. reg heard that the hail was as big as golf balls and the wind gusts were up to 110kph! i am glad we all made it into swift current safely! renato
