We woke up to rain, rain, rain. We decided to wait it out and by about 10:30 it cleared up and we were off again. We left for kenora about 150km away. We said goodbye to the prairies and flat terrain. On the way to kenora there were 30 hills of small to medium size. We got some rain. Brian had a double whammy , a staple in the tire/tube cause a slow leak and a rear wheel spoke snapped probably from the terrible bumpy roads in manitoba. We took off the spoke off, trued the wheel straight and replaced the tube (after taking the staple out of the tire). This got us to kenora where we found the bike shop as they were locking the door at 6:05pm. However they opened the door again and found a replacement spoke for the wheel. They had to cut it to size and rethread it, and they didn’t even charge us for it. Many thanks to Erin, Aston, and Chantel at "the Hardwear Company" 106 Main st. St. South, Kenora. We are now in the RV at wmart in kenora, reg is cooking dinner, while brian and I are fixing a plumbing problem in the shower. Every time we shower we leave a large puddle of water by the passenger rear wheel. We discovered that the pipe, specifically the trap under the shower, is broken at both ends, someone has tried to fix it incorrectly. We don’t have the time or tools to fix it properly. We possibly can get some parts to stop the leaking however. And the rv saga goes on. No overheating today however. I am ready for the hills of northern ontario, I think? We are one day ahead of schedule which is good because thunder bay is about 500 km away and think it will take 3 days not 2 days, as was originally planned, to get there. pictured is brian and his flowers, he picks flowers from each province and puts them on his bike bag to remind him to stop and smell the flowers. (see diana your dad was telling the truth about the flowers) Reg is almost done cooking dinner so I gotta go.
